Golden Tote Review - June 2014

Introduction - What is Golden Tote?

Golden Tote is a fashion subscription box founded by designers Sarah Becker and Sarah Sweeney.  Both Sarahs are also the owners of the Puella clothing line, and their items can be found at Anthropologie.  Golden Tote offers a variety of different designer/boutique clothing items.

Golden Tote Review - June 

 

This month's tote came with a cute new design! # symbols with a bunch of tags describing golden tote.  So far I've collected 4 different tote designs (not including the original rabbit tote design).  I love the mixture of different fonts and words, it is a very eye catching design. 

Picked items

This time I bought a $149 tote with the intent of sharing items with my mom.  Here are the two items we picked: she picked the Naple Floral Blouse (size S/M) and I picked the summer striped dress in grey (size L).  I absolutely love my dress and can't wait to wear it to work.  However, my mom found her blouse to fit a little tight around the shoulders (so I'll be trading/selling her blouse).

Surprise Items

Our surprise items were: lily wrap dress in blue and pink (Mom loved this!), the slouch pants in black (I LOVE THIS!), Nautical themed top by Porridge (we are unsure about keeping this one), and the naked zebra green tank top (we both loved this! -- we're still deciding who gets it).  The Naked Zebra tank top was super soft and comfy.  As well, we both discovered that the nautical porridge blouse was flattering on both our figures.

 Verdict

 We loved 4 out of our 6 Golden tote items!  Mom will be keeping the Lily Wrap Dress and green tank (which I may borrow until I can purchase one of my own).  I will be keeping the striped summer dress and slouchy pants in black.  We will be trading/selling the naples floral blouse and and possibly trading the nautical porridge blouse.  I only wish we had also received a Puella tank or the pretty summer tank by comfy casual. I will definitely be in search of those two for purchase and the Naked Zebra tank we got in this tote (so I can have one too!)

Fabletics Review - May 2014

Fabletics Review - May

Health and fitness are two of my greatest passions (along with chocolate and food!).  So athletic wear is very important to me since I wear it 24/7 when I'm home.  This is both my first review and first outfit from Fabletics, so I'm very excited to share with you my experience.  

For my first outfit, I ordered the Dessus outfit.  This charming outfit comes with a beautiful tanktop with a built-in bra ($24.48), salar capri ($17.48), and switch back teen ($27.99). All of these items come in a variety of colors; however, I chose to stick with the colors in the outfit picture.  With the 50% off promo I got this entire outfit for $27.12 (normally retails for $99.85, or $69.95 with VIP membership).

Verdict

I love this outfit -- I've already worked out in it today!  The material is so soft and feels like high quality athletic wear. Moreover, the sizing was spot on, meaning no exchanges or returns for me (yay!). I can't wait to wear this outfit to my next workout session with my boyfriend.  Athletic wear can be quite expensive and I feel that with this subscription you get your moneys worth.  Especially since your first outfit is 50% off!

PopSugar Must Have - Limited Edition Summer Box

Introduction - What is PopSugar Must Have?

First, I'd like to start by stating that this is my very first blogpost. I'm creating this blog as a way of cataloging what I get when I order from subscription boxes and of sharing what I like and dislike about them with my family and friends.

I ordered the LE Summer Box form PopSugar and am pleasantly surprised that I love everything in this box. For those that don't know PopSugar Must Have is a subscription box that you can order at $35.95 a month. They send you a variety of hand-selected items in beauty, fashion, home, fitness, and food. However, every quarter they come out with a Limited Edition box that costs $100.00.

For the record, I would like to state that in no way was I paid to write this blog or given any services by PopSugar for writing this review. I purchased this box on my own.

Limited Edition Summer Box 2014

This beautiful black box (the color that LE boxes come in) arrived at my door step 3 days early (after I had just finished ordering for my Golden Tote).

Included in this box is: blue tropics pouch (live, love, aloha on one side), Horn necklace, Eliunt extra virgin olive oil, Tarte cheek stain (was a spoiler),  Tarte lipsurgence power pigment (was a spoiler), Sachajuan Ocean mist (for beach hair), and city rocks glasses (so cute and perfect for my age).

Verdict

I loved this box. I will use almost all of the items (maybe not the cheek stain - but thats because I'm not a make up kind of girl). I will also probably regift the eliunt extra virgin olive oil for my mom since she does most (if not all) of the cooking in our house. 

What was missing...

What I wish this box had included: sunglasses, a beach coverup, and reusable water bottle. (Maybe I'm just comparing this to last year's 2013 Summer LE box, but that box was amazing...I wish I known about PopSugar then!)

For the record, I have tried PopSugar before with the LE Resort Box, but had to return it before it was even shipped. There had been 2 delays in shipping and months had passed since they charged my credit card. I had to become very mean and rude to the customer service people and threaten to file a claim in order to receive a refund (I feel extremely sorry to whoever had to deal with me :( I've worked retail and I know customer service is a hard job). However, this summer box definitely makes up for that negative experience.
